Pet owners also arrive worried. A tidy, colour-coded team in branded scrubs helps the practice feel calm and capable when an owner is at their most anxious. Clear roles also help when owners have questions.
Hair, fluids and frequent changes
Animal hair clings to fleece and knit fabrics, so polycotton scrubs and tunics are better in consult rooms and theatre. They wash hot, dry fast and can be changed after a messy patient. Dark colours hide marks; navy, burgundy and green are common.
Surgical gowns and gloves are clinical PPE run by the practice. Uniforms underneath should be changed whenever soiled.
Small animal, farm and equine
Farm and equine vets need outdoor kit: waterproof jackets, padded gilets, thermals for early calvings, and safety wellingtons with toe protection for working near cattle and horses. Coveralls or bib and brace protect clothes when calving or handling stock.
Mixed practices can give each vet both a clinical set and an outdoor set, with the same logo on both.
- Consult room and theatre: scrubs or tunics
- Farm and equine: waterproofs, gilet, wellingtons
- Calving and TB testing: coveralls or bib and brace
Reception and the waiting room
Reception staff handle worried owners, payments and phones, while a dog barks and a cat cries in a basket. A polo or blouse with an embroidered logo is practical and friendly. A fleece suits cold mornings with the door constantly opening. Different colours for vets, nurses, ACAs and reception help owners know who they are talking to. Choose fabrics that shed hair easily.
Where to put your logo
Embroider the practice logo on the left chest of scrubs, tunics and polos, with names and roles such as Veterinary Surgeon or RVN on the right. Embroidery holds up to hot washing. On outdoor kit, add the logo to the chest of gilets and jackets, and consider a printed logo on the back of waterproofs so farmers can see who has arrived in the yard. A proof is sent first.
Ordering for veterinary practices
Most veterinary practices start with scrubs, healthcare tunics and waterproof jackets. You can order from one garment and add more as you take people on. The logo price drops at 9 and again at 25 garments, and every garment with a small logo counts towards it, so mixing styles and colours still gets the better price. Before anything is made, we embroider an actual sample of your logo and email you a photo to approve, or you can pop in to our Hull workshop to see it.
