Kingston Branding is a trading name of Digital Kingston Limited (company no. 14023080, VAT no. GB 415031251), Unit C2 Boulevard Industrial Estate, 84 Goulton Street, Hull HU3 4BA.
The short version
- Branded items are made just for you. Once a garment has been embroidered or printed with your logo, nobody else can use it and we cannot resell or reuse it. So we cannot accept returns or exchanges on branded items if you change your mind or order the wrong size.
- Your protection is the free proof. Nothing is made until you approve it, and you can cancel for a full refund at any time before then. Please check it carefully, especially sizes, quantities, spelling, colours and logo position.
- If something arrives faulty or damaged, or we get it wrong, we will put it right at no cost to you.
- Unbranded items (such as gloves, safety footwear and PPE) can be returned by consumers within 14 days of delivery.
1. Before you approve your proof
After you pay, we email you a free proof showing your logo on your chosen garments. We do not start production until you approve it.
- You can ask for changes to the proof at no extra cost.
- You can cancel your order at any time before you approve the proof, and we will refund everything you paid, including delivery, to your original card.
- Please check garment styles, colours, sizes and quantities, and your logo spelling, colours, size and position. Once you approve the proof, we order and brand the garments to it.
2. Branded (personalised) items
Items embroidered or printed with your logo, name or design are made to your specification. Once branded, they cannot be sold to anyone else or used again. This means:
- We cannot accept returns, refunds or exchanges for change of mind once your proof is approved and production has started.
- We cannot exchange branded items for a different size. Please check sizes before approving your proof (see getting the size right).
- This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty, damaged or not what you approved (see section 3).
- The legal 14-day cancellation right for online purchases does not apply to goods made to the customer’s specifications or clearly personalised.
3. Faulty, damaged or wrong items (including our mistakes)
If anything is wrong with your order, we will put it right. This includes:
- a faulty garment, or a fault in the embroidery or print;
- items damaged in transit;
- the wrong garment, colour, size or quantity compared with your approved proof or order;
- our mistakes in the branding, such as a logo in a different position from the approved proof, a spelling we got wrong, or the wrong logo or colours.
Please check your order when it arrives and let us know as soon as you can. Telling us about transit damage within 7 days helps us claim from the courier, but you can still contact us after that.
- We will repair, replace or re-brand the items, or refund you, at no cost to you. We cover any return postage or collect the items.
- If you are a consumer and tell us about a fault within 30 days of delivery, you can choose a full refund instead of a repair or replacement.
- Branding is matched to your approved proof. Logo placement can vary slightly between garments and sizes, and thread and ink colours are matched as closely as the materials allow. Normal variation like this is not a fault.
- If an error was in the proof you approved (for example a spelling mistake in artwork you supplied or approved), we are happy to re-make the items, but we will need to charge for this.
- Wear and tear, washing that doesn’t follow the care label, and accidental damage are not faults.
4. Unbranded items
If you are a consumer (buying for yourself, not for a business)
- You can cancel within 14 days, starting the day after delivery, for any reason. Just email or call us to tell us. You then have a further 14 days to send the items back.
- Please return items unused and in a condition we can resell. You may try them on as you would in a shop (for example, safety boots indoors on a clean surface). If items have been used or handled more than that, we may reduce your refund to reflect the loss in value.
- You pay the cost of returning the items, unless they are faulty or wrong.
- If you cancel your whole order, we also refund the standard delivery charge you paid.
- If an order has both branded and unbranded items, this right applies only to the unbranded items.
If you are buying for a business (including sole traders)
- There is no legal right to cancel business purchases, but we will usually accept unused, unbranded items in their original condition and packaging if you tell us within 14 days of delivery. You pay the return postage.
- Faulty or wrong items are always put right, as in section 3.
5. Getting the size right
Because branded items cannot be exchanged, please choose sizes carefully.
- Check the sizes on each product page. Sizes vary between brands and styles.
- If you are unsure, ask us before you approve your proof and we’ll advise on fit. You’re welcome to see garments at our Hull unit.
- When you approve your proof, you are confirming the sizes and quantities shown.
6. How to start a return
- Email orders@kingstonbranding.co.uk or call 01482 606622 with your order number, the items concerned and the reason. For faults or our mistakes, please add photos.
- We’ll reply, normally within one working day, with what happens next. Please wait for our instructions before sending anything back, unless you are a consumer cancelling unbranded items.
- For faulty or wrong items, we’ll collect them or send you a prepaid label. For other returns, please send items by a tracked service to Kingston Branding, Unit C2 Boulevard Industrial Estate, 84 Goulton Street, Hull HU3 4BA, or drop them off at the unit.
7. Refunds
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with.
- We aim to refund within 5 working days of agreeing a refund, and always within 14 days of receiving the items back or your proof of postage (whichever is sooner), or of agreeing a refund for a faulty item.
- Your bank may take a few more days to show the refund. Orders paid on account are credited to your account or refunded by bank transfer.
8. Client Wardrobe orders
- Client Wardrobe orders are placed on the client business’s account, so the business is the buyer. Staff should contact their company’s Wardrobe administrator, who will raise any issue with us.
- Branded garments follow the same rules: no change-of-mind or wrong-size returns, but faulty, damaged or wrong items (including our mistakes) are put right at no cost.
- Any extra arrangements agreed with your business, such as size exchanges on stock we hold for you, are set out in your Client Wardrobe agreement and apply as well as this policy.
9. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights. If you are a consumer, these include your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described) and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. For more information, contact Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk, 0808 223 1133). Business customers have rights under the Sale of Goods Act 1979.
