That mix means kit for heat, sun, scaffolds and electrical work, with a clean, modern look that matches a renewables brand. Below we cover roof days, site rules and the ground-level side of charger installs.
Sun and heat on the roof
A roof on a clear summer day is hot and reflective, and there is no shade. Breathable performance polos or T-shirts help sweat evaporate, and long sleeve tees give arms some cover from the sun. A wide-brim or bucket hat protects the neck when you are not in a helmet zone, and sun cream belongs in the van.
Light colours stay cooler on the roof, but they show grime from old tiles. Many installers pick a mid tone like sky blue, grey or green to balance the two.
Scaffolds, harnesses and sites
Domestic installs usually run off scaffolding, and commercial roofs may involve edge protection or harnesses. Clothing should be close-fitting enough not to snag on scaffold fittings or harness buckles. Sturdy safety boots with good grip matter on roof battens and scaffold boards.
Commercial and new-build work brings hi-vis and helmet rules. A hi-vis polo or T-shirt is far cooler in summer than a jacket while still meeting most site requirements. Check your site rules or risk assessment.
EV chargers and electrical work
EV charger installs mean core drilling walls, digging cable trenches across driveways and terminating supplies. Kneepad trousers help with the ground-level work, and safety glasses protect against dust when drilling. On car park and fleet depot installs, expect to wear hi-vis because vehicles are moving around you. Fleet and workplace charger projects are often on live commercial sites, so expect an induction and the client's PPE rules on day one.
Where to put your logo
Renewables firms tend to want a fresh, clean look. Embroider the logo on the left chest of polos and softshells, and print a larger version across the back of T-shirts so neighbours can read it from the street while you are on the roof. On hi-vis tops the logo must sit on the fluorescent fabric, never over reflective tape, and a big logo can eat into the compliant area. Eco garment ranges carry the same branding options.
Ordering for solar panel and EV charger installers
Most solar panel and EV charger installers start with performance polo shirts, hi-vis T-shirts and polos and bucket and sun hats. You can order from one garment and add more as you take people on. The logo price drops at 9 and again at 25 garments, and every garment with a small logo counts towards it, so mixing styles and colours still gets the better price. Before anything is made, we embroider an actual sample of your logo and email you a photo to approve, or you can pop in to our Hull workshop to see it.
