This guide walks through what to order and how to keep it simple for volunteers.
Match kit and training kit
Match shirts carry the club badge, sponsor logos and often names and numbers. Training kit takes more wear, so many clubs choose hard-wearing performance tops with a simpler badge.
Keep match kit and training kit in different colours or styles so players do not wear match shirts to muddy sessions. Breathable, quick-drying fabrics suit most sports.
Coaches, volunteers and supporters
Coaches and volunteers stand on the touchline in all weathers. A branded softshell, padded jacket or hoodie with 'Coach' printed on the back helps parents know who to speak to. Supporters' items, such as hoodies, beanies and scarves, give families a way to back the club and help it look bigger than it is.
Sizing a whole club
Club orders cover a wide size range, so collect sizes properly.
- Use age sizes for juniors and allow for growth over a season
- Ask adults to check the size chart, as sports cuts can be close-fitting
- Offer women's fit for women's and girls' teams
- Collect names and numbers on the same form as sizes
- Check numbers for duplicates before ordering
Sponsors on kit
Sponsors often pay towards kit in return for their logo. Agree with each sponsor where their logo goes and how big it is before ordering. Front of shirt is usually the main sponsor spot, with sleeves and back for smaller ones. Collect high-quality artwork early, as sponsor logos copied from websites can be too small to use.
Making reorders easy
New players join every season. Pick styles you can keep reordering, and keep a record of the badge setup, colours and number style. That way a new player's shirt matches the rest of the squad. A club list of approved items and sizes saves volunteers starting from scratch each time.
Where to put your logo
Embroider the club badge on items that last, such as hoodies, jackets, quarter zips and bags. It looks smart and survives repeated washing. Use print for names, numbers and large sponsor logos on match and training tops, as print stays light and flexible on performance fabric. Keep the badge on the left chest across every item so the club looks consistent from under-7s to the first team.
Ordering what this guide covers
The garments this guide talks about, such as sports and teamwear, performance and sports tops and training wear and tracksuits, can all be ordered from one piece with free logo setup. The logo price drops at 9 and again at 25 garments, and every garment with a small logo counts towards it, whatever the style or colour. Before anything is made, we embroider an actual sample of your logo and email you a photo to approve, or you can pop in to our Hull workshop to see it.
