For an elderly client, opening the door to a stranger is a worry. A clearly branded uniform tells them, and their family, that the person on the step is from your agency.
Trust on the doorstep
Clients are often told to check who is calling before they open the door. An embroidered agency logo on a tunic or fleece, plus an ID badge, gives instant reassurance. Pick a colour that is easy to describe on the phone, such as "the carer in the teal tunic".
Families who arrange care like to see a professional look, which supports your agency's reputation when they talk to friends.
Between calls in all weather
Carers get in and out of a car many times a day and often park a few streets away. A light waterproof or softshell with a logo keeps them dry, and a fleece adds warmth in winter. Take it off at the door so the tunic underneath stays bare below the elbows for personal care.
Rural rounds mean country lanes and dark winter evenings. A hi-vis vest kept in the car is sensible when walking unlit roads; follow your lone working risk assessment.
Practical details for a mobile carer
Pockets matter. Carers carry phones for care-planning apps, keys, key safe codes, gloves and pens. Tunics with two or three pockets save rummaging in bags. Choose fabrics that do not crease badly sitting in a car all day.
Comfortable, closed, wipe-clean shoes with grip suit wet doorsteps and bathroom floors. Keep a spare tunic in the car for changing after a messy call.
Where to put your logo
Embroider the agency logo on the left chest of tunics, polos and outer layers, so the carer is identifiable whether the coat is on or off. Some agencies add a printed logo across the back of jackets so clients can spot their carer coming up the path. Keep the design clear and simple. Embroidery copes with the frequent hot washes care tunics need. Every design is proofed before production.
Ordering for home care and domiciliary care
Most home care and domiciliary care start with healthcare tunics, softshell jackets and branded fleece jackets. You can order from one garment and add more as you take people on. The logo price drops at 9 and again at 25 garments, and every garment with a small logo counts towards it, so mixing styles and colours still gets the better price. Before anything is made, we embroider an actual sample of your logo and email you a photo to approve, or you can pop in to our Hull workshop to see it.
